Enjoying the Sun!

Grandma got this waterfall for her B-day, and Taiya was getting a kick out of the water play. Now we'll have the task of keeping her little hands out of this in the summer.
While Mommy was busy helping Grandma plant a flower basket, Daddy and the kids went out in the neighbourhood and enjoyed some time together in the sun. Matthew is really enjoying the new bike from Grandma and Papa that he got early this spring, especially in their area because the roads are fairly flat (unlike where we live). Braking is a must know skill in our neighbourhood in Victoria, and Matthew is doing really well with this.

Matthew's 1st Tomatoe Plant

Over the past few years Matthew has been very fond of picking and inspecting Papa's tomatoe plants in the summer. So this summer Grandma and Papa decided that he was old enough to have his own little plant to look after. They bought him a special pot and his very own Cherry tomatoe plant to grow and enjoy. Matthew loves tomatoes and was very excited about this idea, he joined in with the planting preparations from beginning to end. Here he is mixing the soil, mushroom manure and bone meal together.
Next, was planting the little tomatoe plant with some help from Papa.
Into the pot it went with some tender loving care.

Tomatoe Planting con't

Watering the tomatoe plant for the first time.
Ah, yes....a job well done!
Proud Grandparents, grandkids, and one little tomatoe plant that hopefully will grow nice and big, and produce some nice juicy Cherry tomatoes for us this summer. We'll keep you posted.

Weekend Celebration

We went up island to visit Grandma and Papa this weekend to celebrate their birthdays and anniversary. It was Grandma's B-day on April 23, Papa's on April 29, and their anniversary on May 1. Taiya was enjoying a helium balloon with Papa (her idol)...lots of smiles and giggles from them both.

Neighbourhood Walk

You'll never get a shot of me, I'm too quick for you!
O.K. ,you caught me looking at some flowers, you're lucky this time!
I think I've got it all now! Taiya loves collecting rocks, sticks, and whatever else she can fit in her hands as we go on little walks in our neighbourhood.

I'm a big girl!

I'm cruising all over the house now, it's so great they can barely keep up with me! Mom likes to chuckle when I walk, I'm not sure why but I think I over heard her telling Grandma that I bob my head and swing my arms as if I'm walking the run way.
I climbed up here all by myself. I think I nearly gave mom a heart attack as I was standing up on the chair to position myself, but here I am...sitting in Matthew's snack seat... safe and sound.
Promise you won't tell Matthew I was here earlier today...O.K.

Shaping Up!

I'm getting in shape for the summer....look out girls!

The Easter Egg Hunt

Oh, look...I found one, this is pretty neat!
You can't fool me Easter Bunny...look what I found! (please ignore my Grade 12 Grad picture in the background...you know Mom's, they'll keep these things framed for a life time).
Is there one back here?? The Easter Bunny thinks he is so smart, but I'm really getting good at this!
Hey, Hey....look what I found...another one!
O.K. we're all done...is there anymore eggs to find. This was so much fun!
It was rainy on Vancouver Island this holiday long weekend, so we did our hunt indoors at Grandma's and Papa's house. Despite being indoors, it was lots of fun, with Matthew really getting into all of the festivities this year. He had a great time coloring eggs and was very excited about hunting for eggs. Frank had him out for a walk in the afternoon, and they saw some people going for a leisurely stroll...Matthew decided to ask them if they might know where the Easter Bunny could have hid some more eggs. Later that day, as we were wishing someone a Happy Easter while going on another walk, he relayed the same wish and then added...I hope you found lots of eggs! Although Taiya didn't know what was happening, she enjoyed playing with the eggs and tried to eat candy whenever she had a chance.

Easter Exploration

Taiya had fun exploring with all of the Easter stuff this past weekend, of course the grass stuff was quite a hit...but as soon as she had a taste of candy she knew what to really go after. Let's just say I was kind of like the Easter police, between the both of them this past weekend.

Easter Egg Coloring

Mommy and Matthew had fun coloring eggs at Grandma's.

Little Piglet

We went to visit Grandma and Papa for the Easter Weekend, and we dressed Taiya up in one of her spring outfits. Aren't these little mini's so cute!

Sleeping Beauty

Here's our sleeping beauty down for the count with just a few of her crib buddies. Taiya loves playing with her stuffed animals after she has woken up. She rarely fusses after she wakes and is very content playing with her friends in her comfy bed.

Fork Feeder

Taiya has recently decided that she wants to be like the rest of us and eat with a fork. The whole idea of using a utensil with pointy ends is a bit scary, but she is actually very coordinated. What a big girl!

Matthew's Train Table

Matthew just got this train table last week and we've decided to add the farm things to the table as well. The table was a school woodworking project from a student in Frank's resource room - What a great job! Matthew loves it and as you can see so does his Grandma.

Park Visit

An afternoon visit with Deanna at the park today. "We had lots of fun going on all sorts of things and I even got to play in the woodchips." "Mom kept telling me not to eat these, but I just had to try, I have to agree... they really don't taste very good at all!"

Brushing Her Teeth

"O.K. , how does this thing work?"
"Hey, I think I've got it...Yummy, this toothpaste tastes great!'
"You spit at the end right?"
